About
The Cary Mufulira Community Partnership Trust (CMCPT), based in Somerset, was established over twenty years ago to promote mutual understanding, education and learning.
These aims are achieved through links, exchanges and shared experiences between communities in Somerset and the town of Mufulira in Zambia.
Alongside its various partners in Mufulira, CMCPT continues to be an active umbrella organisation. The trust supports and advises many links and partnerships between primary schools, secondary schools, churches, hospitals, councils, Rotary groups and other community groups. Many firm friendships have been formed and numerous opportunities to learn, in the very widest sense of the term, continue to evolve.

CMCPT aims to offer support and advice to both established links and those considering forming new links. The trust ensures an effective network for sharing the enormous amount of experience and expertise that exists in this area and in Mufulira. Throughout the year workshops, meetings and other events take place.
We have contacts with GLADE (Somerset’s Global Learning And Development Education centre), British Council in UK and in Zambia and the Diocese of Bath and Wells (linked with the Zambian Anglican Church since the 1970s) as well as other linking and global education organisations.
